Hi. I can confirm the S chord on a home screen doesn’t go to the status bar. I really appreciate someone bringing this one up, because I thought something was broken on my end. Well, technically it is, but at least I know I didn’t do anything to cause it other than upgrade the iOS.
By the way, when I refer to Chord, I’m meaning keys you press along with the SPACE key on a braille keyboard. I don’t particularly care for the way Apple lists the commands rather than the letters they represent. I’ll give you two such examples. The Status line access is one of these. It is dots 2, 3, 4 and space at the same time, but I sure find it easier to remember it’s an S-chord. Also, to get to the home screen, the dot combination is 2, 4, 5 along with the space bar. If you haven’t figured it out yet, it’s an H-chord, H standing for HOME. To get to the app switcher, just hit H-chord twice quickly, which is the same as pressing the HOME button on an iPhone. There are other commands like that which would be much easier to remember if you just thought of their letter equivalents. Have a blessed day and don’t work too hard. Workaround: change the vo cursor to another field, go back and then you can type. Second, a possible brail command bug.
