I could have used your help with that keyboard about a week ago. I wasn't
sure what was what with it so I sent it back. For example, I could not work
out how to open apps with the thing. I assumed after the fact that to open
the apps, it was up and down at the same time. I could get into the app
switcher but could not close an open app. There was of course no book with
the thing so I am not sure where I was going wrong with that keyboard. I
liked the concept though.

If you get Apple's USB to Lightning camera cable you can plug any USB
keyboard into an iPhone.
Of course I find pairing a Bluetooth keyboard to an iPhone is very easy and
it's very robust, e.g. I have had my Logitech K780 paired to my iPhone 8
from just after I got my iPhone a year ago and any time I press FN + F2
which switches it from my PC to my iPhone it's just there, it never seems to
unpair or fail.

Are there hardware keyboards that plug into the same socket as the charging
lead, forgot what that is called now. But an hw keyboard on a lead I can
plug into any of the devices without all this BT pairing mode business.
