Thanks Sieghard , I have followed our steps and plugged in the iPhone. It had been plugged in since 10:00 last night after it had shut off due to low battery, and by 4:30 this afternoon it had only charged to 79%.
I think there may be something wrong with my lightning cord as well, but it seems to be charging now.
