What, you mean you can make phone calls with these smart phones? I'll have to check that out!

Just kidding, but I do joke with a friend of mine at the office that I have a smart phone where I can't make phone calls and a smart watch where I can't tell the time.

Thank you for the help. I did figure out the reminder app after
playing with it for a while this morning. There are so many features
of the iPhone I haven't ever used even though I have had one for about
5 years, so not it is time to start using it for more than just
listening to audible books and making phone calls and texting :)

If you are finding the reminder app too difficult, you can always create a
calendar event, set it to repeat at the given times and then set an alert .

1) Bring up a list and then double tap on new reminder at the bottom.

2) Double tap on the time button.

3) Double tap on custom, and repeat will be one of the options.

I looked at the updated reminders app, but couldn't figure out how to
set an occurrance. Maybe I will use seri to set one up and then look
at how it is configured :)

If you are on iOS 13, take a good look at the updated Reminders app.
You can set them with Siri, but take some time going through the app's
options.
You can get rather creative on setting up reoccurring reminders.
If on iOS 12, the Reminders will still work, or just set reoccurring
appointments on the calendar and set an alarm sound for the time of the
event.

Hi,

What is the best app to use for setting recurring reminders. For
example, each week on friday afternoon, I need to file a status report
by 3:00pm, or each day at 11:30 I need to spend half an hour working
on a particular presentation.

I want my phone to alert me, but not have to do anything special to
have the reminder recur after the specified interval.

Any tips would be appreciated,

Donald
