Hi Albert, Instead of completely shutting down your phone you could simply ask SIRI to turn off WiFi over night. As long as you made sure the update hasn't already downloaded, this will effectively prevent this from happening since an iOS update will not download while on cellular data.

It will only do the update when the phone is plugged in, powered up and left alone for a few hours.
