I found that earlier, but there is no option to turn them completely off unless
you mean to just make sure nothing is checked. There is an option to sync which
can't be turned off either? Does that make a difference?

When you go to Settings, Calendar, flick right with one finger until you get
to Default Alerts.
Double tap and you can set default alerts for Birthdays, events, etc.
This is in the main phone settings, not within the Calendar app.

Thank you, Richard. I can't find anywhere in the native calendar settings
to turn off default alerts. Any suggestions?

I believe both the native Calendar and Fantastical have the ability to
set a default alert time.

Go into the Native Calendar settings and turn off default alerts.

If you are setting up an alert at the time you create the event, then it
is probably going to show up in both since Fantastical draws from the native
calendar.

However, you could go into notifications and turn them off for calendar,
but leave them on for Fantastical.

Reminders and events are treated very similarly. I’m not sure why one
needs to use Reminders.

But, if you have Fantastical set up to access your Reminders, you could
just set up a Reminder via Siri/Reminders app, and it will show up in
Fantastical.

I’m fairly sure that is correct, but I’m not by my iPhone right now.

Subject: Question about scheduling an event

      Good Afternoon,

I have been trying to set up a reminder both through my calendar and
Fantastical. I finally switched from the Gmail calendar to the home calendar
and was able to set up the event through Fantastical, but not a reminder.

Well, when the event happened, which is a recurring event, I get an alert
from both my calendar and Fantastical at the same time. Can I delete it in my
calendar, which I never set up, and just leave it in Fantastical or will that
wipe out both of them?

I never could set up the reminder but I'm fairly certain that is an IOS
issue because it only started after the upgrade.

      Thank you.

      Vicki
