Hi Justin, When you touch something in a SEttings category on the left of the screen, the settings for that category appear on the right. It may help to imagine a line going down the screen somewhere in the middle. It may be toward the left or right, depending on the app.
The same thing works in Mail, where the list of messages is on the left, and the message you have selected is on the right. In Messages, the conversations are on the left, and the messages from the selected conversation are on the right. I hope that helps.
