And what's wrong with a small laptop instead of a tablet where you would in all
likelihood end up carrying an extra Bluetooth keyboard whether it's a Windows
tablet such as a Surface or an iPad.

Subject: Straight Talk on iPad

Hey guys,

I’m looking for a tablet, something portable I can easily travel with.
I’m leaning toward a Windows tablet, but honestly, that’s probably only because
I don’t feel as though I can be productive on iOS. I can use my phone to
interact with email, read RSS feeds, listen to podcasts, but in terms of
editing files, or even reading files, I feel behind the curve.

I use Dropbox. I fully accept I could be an idiot here, but I personally find
it hard to review files on iOS. I want the flexibility to jump by character,
word, or paragraph with the same ease I can do on a PC, but in iOS it feels as
though the text of the file is in a small area where navigation is not the best
experience. I’m picking on Dropbox, but honestly, I don’t find the experience
much better on any of the other editing apps, including Voice Dream. Maybe I’m
not finding the right one?

The same is true for editing files. I think with a good Bluetooth keyboard I
could make a go of it, but I don’t want to feel limited to plain text files. I
need the flexibility of Word documents I can later resume full editing on my
primary PC at home.

So, I want someone to help me understand how they do their work on an iPad. I
love the longevity of Apple products. I like the support. I like the form
factor I’ve been able to find with certain keyboard cases, but I’m also very
interested in producing, not just consuming.
Again, I fully accept I might just not be looking at the right tools.
So, that’s where you come in.

Any thoughts? Ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Joe
