I can't say I've ever heard of an option to delete all ... but a couple of
things about gmail.
1. It's fundamental mode of operation is to apply labels rather than
folders (although the UI looks like folders). This is great in that
it allows
multiple labels to be applied to a single message (something can be a
receipt, work related and reimbursed ... for example). It can be a bit
confusing when what you want is an actual delete ;>
2. in the gmail iOS app, there is settings (slightly odd, in that iOS
apps usually have their settings set in "settings" from the apple device
menu) and there are "swipe actions" you can adjust it to "archive"
(default) to actually delete ("Trash") snooze, move mark as read ....). You
can define right and left swipes differently.
I find executing mass actions are much easier via the web interface,
preferably on a Mac or PC. But tastes (and accessibly) vary.
