Richard Unless it has changed the lightening to usb adapter isn’t going to work from a phone
There is not enough power output from the phone to power a USB flash drive. I’m not sure how this would go if you used a usb powered hub, but the adapter alone didn’t work for me years ago with my phone at the time, I think it was a 7.
