Also if you don’t store your contacts on your sim you should be fine. It won’t slow your phone down. All it is used for is how to tell the phone to talk to the towers. According to an earlier post it's not beneficial to use your old SIM card because it'll hinder the performance of the new SE model. Technically, the SE first generation and second generation take the same size SIM card. However, the new SIM cards are much faster, so Apple recommends getting a new SIM card with the new phone. I was told by an Apple staff person that I could set up the new phone with the old SE SIM, but should then get a new SIM card as the performance will be much better. Take care. Mike.
