If Apple ever decided to make a 4.7 inch phone
with an OLED screen and virtually no screen
bezel as well as Face Id so that the home
button wouldn't have to take up space at the
bottom of the screen they could easily make
such a phone in the size of an old 5S or the
original SE. Of course whether this is going to
happen is anybody's guess, don't think it is
anything which we'll see in the next couple of
years, but who knows what they'll do in 3 or 4 years.

the original se, the phone I currently
have. Since I don’t like the larger phones,
I will definitely be sticking with what I have
as long as I can. You might recall that I
purchased an se with more space not that long

First of all, Kitty, the new iPhone SE which
was just released is the exact same size/format
of the iPhon e 8 and that is equal to a 4.7 inch screen.
The original iPhone SE which was released in
the spring of 2016 had for the most part the
internals of the iPhone 6S which was released
in the fall of 2015, but it was actually a 4
inch phone like the old iPhone 5 and 5S from 2012 and 2013.
As for iOS 14, I think it’s entirely possible
that the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus and the original SE
still get this year’s iOS release. After all,
the iPhone 5S which was released in 2013 with
iOS 7 preinstalled got all the upgrades
including iOS 12 in 2018, only last fall did it
not get iOS 13 any more. This means after the
OS it shipped with it got 5 more iOS updartes,
all the way from 2013 to 2018 or 6 years.
The iPhone 6S/6S Plus and the original SE were
all released with iOS 9 preinstalled and so far
they received iOS 10, 11, 12 and 13, that is one version less than the 5S.
My wife and I both also have the iPhone 8 and
we will definitely not upgrade to this new
iPhone SE just for the sake of going from 2 Gb
to 3 Gb of RAM and from the A11 to the A13
processor. In real life you won’t notice that
much of a difference and anybody who argues
that on this new phone apps open faster, the
app switcher come sup faster and so on should
ask themselves how many seconds a day they’ll
save and whether that is really worth it.
Anybody who still has an iPhone 6 or even a 5S
should probably upgrade, but I want to see what
Apple comes up with this fall. I really want a
phone with Face Id and 5G support, but unless
there are some other compelling aspects I will
probably wait until the fall of 2021.

It is more the size of the standard iPhone 8.
So current cases will not fit it.
The old SE is worth $30 in trade.

ordered a new SE, b, black, 128 Gb, with Apple
Care and arranged to trade in my old iphone
8. We were online right at 7 AM CDT. It took
us 13 minutes from start to finish which I
thought was pretty good. I think we had to
restart the process twice. It is supposed to
be delivered next Friday, April 24. I had to
pay the full price plus tax and they ship me a
package with labels so I can send them the
iphone 8. When they get the 8 they will credit
my account $170.00. I didn̢۪t want to try to sell the old one locally.
