You should never have to enter somebody else's Apple Id and/or password, I have never seen this before. Didn't you say you were using a new email or had set up a new Apple Id? You should know that if you can't change the email on your original Apple Id then all the apps you purchased with that Apple Id will be lost to you. If you buy 20 apps with a particular Apple Id and then you set up a new Apple Id and purchase 5 more apps and you use the new Apple Id on your phone you can only use these 5 apps.

Or is this actually part of a set up process that will allow me to do it if only I get the correct password.
