What you are remembering is correct except that I miss spoke. What I created when I purchased the new SE was just some information so that they can send me info and invoice all that kind of stuff. It was not a new Apple sign in ID. So all this has to do with family sharing and it did offer me the option to get it my sisters apps the ones which I had downloaded and she had paid for. I assumed that’s what that was all about.
