Swiping up with 3 fingers is the /Control Center, the Control Center entry in
Settings is not the Control Center itself just as the Notification Center item
in settings is not the actual Notification Center.

Subject: Re: Predictive texts, buggy rotor, locking the screen in portrait mode

Thank you Richard. Yes the phone is now locked. I found it not in control
center in settings but I did it the way you suggested the old way kind of a
three finger swipe up after first touching the status bar and it was there.
I have to say that I find my new SE jumpy. I think that’s a good way to put it.
And I’ve got everything turned off that I can and trying to minimize any kind
of effects that I can. But it’s still a little funky. It’s disappointing. Still
not willing to go the route of buying a refurbished phone, I waited for this
one based on its affordability for what I got… Storage ram etc.
And wow, I went to target today, the first store I’ve been in since the
lockdown roughly 2months ago, and for the cheapest case I could get, nothing
fancy. I spent 15 friggin bucks. Boy do I wish I had a dollar store within
walking distance of me. This case is the sort of thing you used to be able to
get for $1.50 just about anywhere. I bet this brand versus what I used to be
able to get cheap somewhere else was also made in China. The slave labor. OK
I’ll come to the window Sent from my iPhone
