Vivian, I just went through this exact decision. At Costco, The price I was quoted for a Verizon iPhone SE ((probably 64GB) was $380, which likely included the activation fee, but not the taxes. When I looked on Verizon’s site a bit ago, they were waiving the activation fee of $40, but only offering me $30 or $35 for my iPhone 6S trade in. Apple will give me $80 for this old phone. I really dislike the sales tactics of the people in the Verizon store; feels like high pressure sales to me. After input from people on this list, I decided to buy from Apple. I paid $480, including tax, for the 128 GB red iPhone SE. I decided to get the unlocked version because I might want to try T-Mobile, while I have this phone. With the trade-in for my old phone, my net price will be $400 after I mail in and get the credit for my old phone.
If you are happy with Verizon, it probably really doesn’t matter. For me, I’ve been a bit frustrated with my level of coverage, so being able to switch to another carrier made the decision for me. Best wished to you with your choice. My phone arrives in a week or so and I’m excited for the upgrade. Robin I called Apple to make my purchase last Saturday morning and the gal I talked with was really helpful and easy to talk with. She may the order process super simple. I know this will probably be subject to personal opinion and I’m OK with that. Many thanks. Vivian and Sallie -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
