James and others,
I started a completely new thread to make sure this message didn't end up in
the old thread.

To answer James question, there are a lot of note taking apps.
The one that is built-in is Notes.
It is a good, basic, note taking app but has a pretty busy screen now with all
the new features.

My personal favorite is Voice Dream Writer, normally $9.99 but I believe it is
on sale through May.
It is made by the same person who makes my favorite book and document reading
app, Voice Dream Reader, and the best OCR app, Voice Dream Scanner, they are
all available in a bundle.

Writer is designed specifically for advanced note taking, though can be used
for just simple notes.
It only edits txt, but it can export into RTF or HTML as well; and he has an
experimental Word export that hasn't worked for me of late.
It has a great spell checker, you can easily move paragraphs or sentences
around, delete whole paragraphs.
You can get definitions of words, or if you are not sure of the correct word,
you can write a general meaning and get word suggestions. Like, the fastest
animal in Africa and get Cheetah.

The manual is very good, though because it has complex abilities, it has a bit
of a learning curve, but well worth it.
It does not allow for folders to group your notes , but it has an easy search
box to find a note quickly.

Another popular one is Ulises. I've never used it, it seems pricy to me.

Meteor Notes used to be a good one too, but I've not used it in years. I
believe it allows for folders.

I do not think Pages or Word are worth your while since VoiceOver still doesn't
report accurately where you are in a file.

HTH,

Hi,

I am considering the possibility of using my iPhone SE 2020 as a note-taker
using Braille to input the text.

I am a Braille user and I am wondering what apps people recommend for taking
notes on an iPhone.

I have around 150 files on my current notetaker. If I can use the iPhone one
third as efficient as the Himms Braille Sense, then I want to try.

, This is my first iPhone so I do not know if there might be a native app
already on the phone or should I consider something from the app store.

Are other iPhone users switching from note-takers to the iPhone?

Regards,

James B
