I too, would like to know, Kitty, about this wonderful flip phone. Ann, if
your client
can find the lg exaltflip that would be wonderful. As far as the kyozera
phones,
the cadence and the dura xv, and the lg exalt, to me anyway, as far as
accessibility
and how these phones operate, the lg exalt is designed so well the way it
works in
some of the features of the phone which I could explain off list to you or
anyone
else. It's my favorite phone. The 3 phones I mentioned here are all verizon
phones
and are all 4g phones, so your client would be able to use them fine. To
give you an idea about the prices of the flip phones that verizon has, The
dura xv,
if she finds the newer dura xv it costs $240 I was told by a verizon
customer service
individual. The other dura xv that's also 4 g that's been out for at least 2
or 3
years which is 4g costs $264. The cadence which I have is $120, and the
exalt costs
$144. The cadence is sold at some stores, such as walmart and target as a
prepaid
phone which in that case it costs about $30. There's another phone called
the etalk
that came out last august, it's a flip phone and if you get it as a prepaid
it's
about $25. I'm not sure how much the etalk is as a postpaid phone. The etalk
is interesting,
it's on an android operating system, and the text to speech's voice is the
same voice
used for talkback I think it is, though it's a basic flip phone. I just want
to point
out, for anyone that hasn't explored a flip phone in about 4 to 6 years,
these phones,
while not smart phones quite, they are more advanced than before. For
example the
lg exalt and the kyozera flip phones have email that you could set up,. The
only
drawback and I don't know if it's just me and I don't know what to do about
it
or if it's just the way it is, you can't read the body of the message. You
could
hear the header, and if a link is in the body of the message you could hear
that too,
and what's neat is you could press the center button and it will take you on
the
browser to the web site. I know this isn't the phone list for flip phones so
I apologize
for all these details, but I just wanted to tell you a bit about the etalk.
You can
text with the etalk, though it doesn't have a section for email. and since
verizon
is a verizon phone, the options in the area for texting and for the notepad,
while
they aren't labeled, you could easily figure out what the numbered option
is. I
would have to go to the phone to make sure I tell you these options right,
but you'll
get the idea with this example. When you press the left soft key the options
are
just numbered, such as
number 1 option is for lower case letters
number 2 option is for upper case
number 3 option is for numbers
and
number 4 option is for symbols
If your client likes to text, then any of these phones would be fine for
her. The
well known phone the alcatel doesn't speak the symbols so that wouldn't be
good for
anyone that likes to text. There's a newer model of alcatel for verizon that
I haven't
seen yet so I don't know if it's like the alcatel phones that I have, one
was a prepaid
from at&t and I can't remember what the other carrier was for the other
phone. So
possibly the newer one is set up better with the text to speech. Again I'm
sorry
to go into such detail about these phones, here's my email address if anyone
has
any new information about the newer alcatel or if anyone has any questions
about
the phones I mentioned, my email address is
[email protected]
I meant to mention I haven't figure out how to label those option buttons in
the
etalk but at least you could figure out what they are. And the sad thing is
about
my very favorite phone, the lg exalt, even though it's a 4g phone verizon
has retired
the phone and is no longer selling it, but I've found at times you could
still find
these phones in the stores that have been retired by the carrier.

Ann, I actually happen to have a flip phone that works on Verizon as that
is my carrier. The only thing your client might need to find out is if
Verizon still supportsthe slower service.
It does have more accessibilities than some of the flip phones I have
had. For instance, it will read text messages and if u happen to catch
the message when it comes in, you can find out who it is from. Let me
know off list if u r interested and we can talk more. Email me at
[email protected] and put flip phone in the subject.
