I had the same experience, apparently right after i installed the latest update, but i didn’t notice until last night. I thought i must have inadverently changed a setting, but after spending time in Settings, i couldn’t solve the problem. I called Apple Accessibility support, and they told me i could either reinstall the whole operating system or download Siri’s British voice, which is what i chose to do. The Apple guy says the issue will be resolved with the next update, and after installing that, i can get Siri’s American voice back. But, i kind of like having Mary Poppins on my phone.
