Grant and all, This is going to b another one of those, well Apple told me, but, well, they did, and here goes.
I can remember hearing this faint noise when shaking all of my iPhones, 3GS, 4, 4S and now the 5. I've had two or even three of mos of these as well over the years. I took the first 3GS to the Apple retail store and demonstrated. They explained to me that it was, and they were absolutely sure of this, the camera lens, they explained that it has a little play in its housing. I honestly cannot remember why they said it did, but, they said that it had this play, perhaps to do with focus etc. Anyway, they said that it 100% was the camera and this was from one of their repair iPhone people.
