If you have any of the newer Sonos speakers you have a "Connect To" option in the Audible app and it will show you any of your Sonos devices you can play to.

Simply start them on the IPhone and then in Control Panel, send them to the Sonos system. Give it a try. And if you own the Sonos One, just ask it to read a book with Audible if you are subscribed to that servvice. Since I live alone I can move to another room and still hear my music, or a football game or radio station. I have a bit over 1800 square feet to roam and prefer not having to carry a device around whenever I wander. This way I can concentrate on my navigation. LOL! FYI I have set up Amazon, Google and Sonos speakers with no sighted assistance with very little or no trouble and know there will be no problem with the Home pods I plan to try when available. So it is nonsense to say we can’t do this.
