Hi. I'm going to try and repeat something here which is a little technical. I don't know any more about this than what I heard, so those who know more, please pardon any errors I may make in the retelling. I watched a YouTube video recently from Rene Ritchie, a technology reviewer, podcaster and YouTube video producer on the iPhone 12 series. In short, he said that product design cycles are made several years in advance. In other words, what we saw in this year's phones was initially conceived about 2 years or more ago. In that case, it makes sense why this year's iPhones would not have a combination Face/touch ID feature. In 2018, who could have known of the worldwide crisis we now find ourselves in, and how valuable and useful such a phone would be? Rene proposed that the phone with both Face and touch ID was conceived and started in the design process in 2018, so it makes sense that it would be ready in 2021. This would also align with other rumors and patents on the issue. Again, this is all one person's speculation, but if you consider the point he raises, it makes a lot of sense. If you want to know more of his views and thoughts, search for Rene Ritchie on YouTube and I'm sure his channel will come up. Also, for what it's worth, I've heard Rene speak highly of accessibility in general and for the blind in particular.
