There are fairly cheap generic phones that have the recessed sos button on hwich might be a more reliable solution. Blind-Shell Classic is one, but sure Doro do cheaper ones for the sake of getting a sighted setup on it first.
A SOS app would need to have a button on the lock screen to be any real use.
