Terry, if you actually ask for the subscription from the apple TV app you will not need to put your apple ID in, but the subscription will be in the app store for you to stop or restart as you wish. Yes, any programs you want to watch will be available in its app, but if you go through the apple TV app you will be taken to the app automatically. Also, if I go to an app and ask for a show there if it is attached to the apple app that show you started with the app will now be shown in the apple TV app. Netflix is one that does not sync with Apple TV app. Hope this helps.
