Mike:

Select described images in the rotor options.  When you are in an app that has 
this extraneous chatter, turn the rotor to ‘described images’ and flick up to 
disable it.  It will stayed disabled forever, unless you enable it again.

You have to do this in any app that you find has the extra descriptions, as you 
can’t disable it for all apps universally.
