I have set up both an iPad Mini 4 and an iPad Pro 2018 out of the box. I have also set up several watches, iPhones, and a MacBook air out of the box. I have a new MacBook Pro coming in a few weeks with the M1 chip and I am anticipating setting that up out of the box as well. Soon my journey back to the land of all things Apple will be complete. Yeah, I've had no sighted assistance setting up any of my apple products. Three clicks on the home or power buttons at start up will turn voiceover on. -----Original Message----- From: viphone@googlegroups.com <viphone@googlegroups.com> On Behalf Of Evan Reese Sent: Thursday, 7 January 2021 8:40 am To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Is It Possible to Set Up an iPad out of the Box without Any Sighted Assistance? Hello, Kind of a followup to my recent inquiry, if my Life Partner decides to get an iPad, is it possible to set one up without any sighted assistance? The problem is that we are having a very hard time right now getting an appointment at the Apple store, where they would normally do that for a blind customer. So basically, we would be having to get it running from square one. My Life Partner has a very limited amount of partial vision, and I have none at all. I do however, have some familiarity with VoiceOver, having had an iPad Mini for a few years. So I could likely be of help in setting it up, once VoiceOver has been activated. I would be grateful for any advice on this. Evan -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
