I don’t know how to get titles for rows and columns to be spoken, but I found
that adding Vertical navigation to the rotor helps when reading a spread sheet.

Hi Richard,

Thanks for the reply. I figured as such but we can keep our fingers crossed. I
have really gotten spoiled to how easy it is to set titles for JAWS to speak
column headings and row titles on the computer and a similar feature on the
iPhone would make Excel much more usable there.

It does not exist yet.

I only say yet, because I am really hopeful some day they will do this.

Right now, just getting rid of all the bloody extra chatter about fonts and
junk would make me happy.

But, for now, unless it is a fairly small spreadsheet, using them on the iPhone
or even the iPad is a royal pain in the (you know where.)

an iPhone as JAWS does on a computer?

Hi List,

I know this is a long shot but I thought the advanced brain power of this list
was the place to start.

I've gotten spoiled using Excel on my Windows computer by inserting range
Titles so that JAWS speaks column headings and row titles as I navigate among
the various cells. Does anyone know of a way with the Excel app or some other
workaround to get similar behavior on an iPhone? I would think this would be a
nice feature even for the sighted since anyone accessing a spreadsheet on such
a small screen would benefit from spoken column headings and row titles.

Thanks in advance if you have any ideas.
