That’s not what’s happening here. When I open the app (I’m talking about the iRobot app in this case) I am presented with a screen informing me that an update is available. There is a button that says “update” which when tapped takes me to the app store. There is no way to decline this update and no way to know beforehand whether accessibility will still be working once completed.
I have automatic updates turned off already. But thanks for your reply. I am definitely going to report these madatory updates to Apple accessibility. This case pertains to the iRobot app, but I have seen the same behavior in other apps too.
