I have spoken before engaging my brain. The 3 finger double tap turns the
speech on and off, not the 2 finger triple tap.

The two-finger tap is also what braille users use. If we turn voiceover off
we won't have braille; we only want to mute the speech. There also is a way
to do this from the braille device.

Hi Sandy,
I use the two finger triple tap to silence voiceover while I am riding
my bike with a blue tooth headset, so when a call comes in I can
answer it without hearing voice over.

If I were to turn off voice over, I could accidentally open, move or
delete apps, because the gestures would revert to the standard
configuration.

Also, it is less wear and tear on the home button.

I understand that the former is Speech Off and the latter is Voice Over on
and off. The question is why do we need both? I always use Triple Click Home
when silencing speech. Under what circumstances would one find the
two-finger triple tap more beneficial? Thanks.
