Voice Dream Writer will open a document where you left off. That is one of the reasons I like it. It has fabulous editing features, a spell checker, and lots more. Pages is bloody damn useless on an iDevice because VoiceOver still does not report accurately where you are. I somewhat go by the saying "you get what you pay for" and Pages is free.
