Mine came in the left ear panel already. But, search the packaging thoroughly, especially if it came from Amazon. I cannot tell you how many people bought a keyboard from them that threw away the box before they found the 2 triple a batteries cleverly stored in the top of the box.

It's got a USB port on the end and a smooth end opposite the USB port. It's been a few years since I've unboxed mine, but it was tucked into the bottom layer of packaging, in a tiny plastic babby. I had to physically remove each piece of card board just so I wouldn't miss it. I only thought to do this because Logitech also packages their USB keyboard dongles in this manner. If that doesn't work, it's possible they put it in the left earpiece. There's a little compartment that swings out that stores the dongle when not in use. The boom mic is on the right earpiece just to make finding it easier. Hope this helps some.
