No, you cannot use the newer app with the old pots in my experience. If someone knows differently, I'm all ears please. I will lose the Instant Pot and my weight scale when i get a new phone so my hope was to keep my 8+ around for just that purpose so I'd like to not lose the IP bluetooth model just yet. I know there's always a risk.
