Did a message come up on your Old SE about trusting your computer? If not, there is a problem.
You have to allow your iPhone to trust the computer or nothing will see it including iTunes. I just connected my Old SE and WALTR sees it just fine. You have to get to the Wi-Fi tab in WALTR and then tab into the list of available devices, then once on the device, tab to a checkbox to allow wireless connection with that device. If you do not have another cable, it could be it is too old to deal with. But, try rebooting while the phone is plugged in.
