I know he said he was looking for alternatives, but for me an alternative which its inside the ear and blocks off all or most sound is not an alternative. Despite the fact that the Apple Earbuds break from time to time I still think they are the best wired ear buds on the market as far as sound qualiy, functionality and not blocking out external noise are concerned. If you can find them for $10 or $15 from sources like eBay, Amazon or GroupOn then that would be pretty acceptable to me, I would just buy 4 or 5 at a time and use them up. I use mie all the time and I'm pretty hard on them as well, just yesterday I accidently dropped them and rolled over one of the ear pieces with my office chair, ell, so much for that, if it had been one of the Apple Airpods Pro I would have been a lot more upset!
