Hi,

Yes the roam can be used as a standalone device,

And yes as Richard said about the sonos app,
It's very easy to setup a home theatre system in an apartment.

My sonos hardware is older and it was very easy with the app to setup.

And the newer products are even easier I have been leed to believe.

Subject: Re: A Bluetooth Speaker question

I wish to thank everybody who has offered suggestions about my bluetooth
speaker issue. I'll certainly consider the Sonos Roam. Can it work by itself
without a whole home theater system, and, if, at some point, I wanted a
complete Sonos outfit, is it difficult to install, in, say, an apartment? This
question might belabor the issue and keep the subject going for another day or
two, but since some of you have the products, you can answer on good
authority... your own experiences.

Peace & Blessings,
