Hi Mary and all, I recorded a couple samples of Spatial Audio using a binaural microphone. The first is a sample from Voice Dream Reader. the second is a sample from Apple Music's Spatial Audio of The Planets by Holst. I suggest listening to the VDR sample first. I will say I am running the iOS 15 public beta 4, but I somehow doubt that is the difference. If so, you have something to look forward to; or not, this is all personal preference of course. I did try re-positioning the headphones a few times with no change. So this is very interesting. I really was surprised when you said it worked at all, sense as far as I know, the spatial audio etc. is supposed to be on music and videos. I will be curious if you can repeat this. Anyway, that’s not happening, and it doesn’t sound any different to my ears then regular audio. When I listen to a spacial audio cut with Apple Music, the sound also did not move to follow my head. I do have the feature turned on, accomplished by going into Bluetooth, finding the AirPods max, flicking down to more info and double tapping, and going through the settings there.
