This thread about not updating Messenger has simply got to disappear. The only thing different in the latest Messenger update is that it reads all messages within conversations as unread. Otherwise, it's exactly the same as previous versions, and updating it is fine. So let's get rid of this thread that's truly meaningless. It's perfectly okay to update Messenger. This has been happening since I got my iPhone 6S last year. It never happened in my previous iPhones. I was able to update my apps manually but now they tend to update automatically.
