Hi Anna,

I discovered that my usb hub is apparently not working quite correctly.

While it provides power, it isn't making a good data connection so
when I plugged the phone into the usb port on the computer directly,
it did appear in the list of devices in itunes.

Now I just have to figure out how to tell itunes to sync to the phone.
 I want to copy a bunch of music from my computer onto the phone.
