Richard. The extended apple care is through apple not my carier which is Verizon. What happened was when my apple care expired on June 7 of this year. I had paid $200 for the past 2 years. After it expired, I went to settings under my name and under apple care, a message came up. It said that I had 30 days from when my apple care expired to pay for apple care if I wanted. There were different options, and I chose the $10 per month option. I can cancel at any time, however, I need to be aware, that if I do cancel that is it, and I wouldn't have apple care any more. I'll pay the $10 per now, but if I get a new iPhone, I could either continue to pay for the apple care on my olde iPhone, or stop.
