The thing about Lidar is you need to buy a Pro model to have that sensor included. There's a large jump in price between the standard and pro models. Unless you're really into photography, you're getting the bulk of what most blind people will really benefit from in the standard iPhone for substantially less money. This puts Lidar at a painful chicken and egg point. App developers need to find clever enough uses for Lidar to encourage enough sales on a smaller percentage of blind owners of pro models. I think Apple is going to have to bring Lidar to all iPhone models before things really get going.
