Richard, I guess that is my problem. The app says it will not work without
two factor authentication turned on. Which is in my opinion totally not
necessary because it is a navigation app and how serious can that be. I
mean really? Someone got in to your phone and found out you learned how to
get from the auditorium to the bathroom? There's a high security item for
you. I'll turn it off and see if that app works, but I doubt it because of
the hoops you had to jump through to sign in.

Well, you kind of answered your own question.

If you don’t want it, go ahead and turn it off.

It only comes up when you change something like a password, or another
privacy type setting in whatever app or service is using it.

Then, they send you a code, usually 6 digits, that you have to enter in a
box to proceed.

It can get annoying, but it works well and is another layer of protection.

It is entirely up to you if you want to deal with it.

The app will probably still work even with it off..

  Subject: a 2 factor question

  Hi all,

I installed an app that wanted to use two factor authentication and when I
installed it, I got a message from Apple saying that two factor
authentication had been turned on, on my phone and I had 30 days to change
this. I could change it by clicking on a link. If I leave it on, what
should I do about it? I really don't want it though. Any thoughts?
