Alan: I followed your directions to the letter and discovered automatic was on. However, the speaker phone still doesn't come on when I hold the phone away from my ear. Could apple have changed a feature? Louise

The choices are Automatic, Bluetooth headset, and Speaker on my iPhone 13 Mini. I think setting this to automatic will give you what you want. Now it doesn't. Even if I move the volume up, it is still in my ear and not on speaker. If I'm outside near traffic, I cannot hear a conversation, but if I go indoors, I can hear the phone close to my ear. What do I do to change this, or has Apple changed the feature? Very frustrating.
