I just learned that Judy Dixon, who wrote a fabulous book on using the camera, "Capturing and Sharing The World" available from National Braille Press in many formats, wrote an article in May of 2021 for Access World explaining the LIDAR feature in the pro iPhone models since iPhone 12 and on some iPads. I recommend reading it if you want to know more about LIDAR.
