You always have to line up your camera no matter which app you use. Seeing AI has barcode recognition, but I don't think it's as good as Tap Tap See with straight object recognition. Here is an example: With Tap Tap See I can put a can of Coke or Ginger Ale on the counter and simply take a picture of it and chances are that it will recognize it. With Seeing AI you would have to find the barcode at least as far as I know and everything I have tried with Seeing AI was when I scanned the barcode. Tap Tap See looks at the entire picture, the colours, the writing and it compares it to its data base of objects and it works quite well especially for popular products.
