I have mastered the gestures to get to things without the home button, but face ID continues to bedevil me. Interestingly, sometimes it will work with no problem and I have no idea why, but mostly, I cannot unlock my phone using my face. I have attention turned off and like you, I have successfully gone through the training exercise multiple times, with and without sighted help, which ends with a message that face ID was successfully set up, but for reasons I can’t understand, mostly it does not work. I have only had the phone for 3 days and I know that other blind people out there with prosthetic eyes are doing face ID successfully, so I refuse to give up, but I admit it is quite frustrating since I love everything else about my 13 Pro. I have even reset the face ID several times in different light and dark situations, with and without sighted help, and even set up an alternate face, but still no joy. Also, it is very hard to get the keypad to come up to enter the passcode. You will have to learn the new gestures for getting to the home screen, control center, app switcher, etc., but I did not find that very difficult after practice. I know that I have to embrace change and except new things, and again, I like this bigger phone and I love the battery life compared to my iPhone 8, so I don’t want to go back to that phone again, but I hate using a passcode to authenticate, so I am really hoping that I can get this worked out.
