Hi,
I have a question relating to this subject. When you want to delete just a few words in a text message, can it be done any other way other then to just delete character by character. When I look at the edit menu while I am in a text, all I see is “select” and “select all.” I tried double tapping on “select” thinking it might bring up a menu for selecting words or lines, but no go. So am I missing anything if I just want to delete a few words. Thanks for the help! Take care and stay safe! Sieghard, I will also try the double tap and hold. I definitely miss 3 d touch. I used it for a lot. Even the app switcher could be activated by a harder press on the left edge of the phone. Granted, you now only have to swipe up to the second haptic so that is good now too. Sometimes you have to delete the first few letters one by one, but usually once you do then doing a double tap and hold on the delete button will work. This, by the way, has nothing to do with 3D Touch, that was when you pressed harder on a button to generate different responses and it's been replaced by double tap and hold for the most part. Another approach is to turn the rotor to Text Selection, then swipe down and make sure it's set to words and then, if you are at the end of a block of text, swipe right to left to select the text you want to delete word by word, when you are done tap delete. If you want to delete all that is there use Select All and then delete.
