When I had braille watches I usually broke the glass/crystal every few years. I bought my first Apple Watch, the series 2, in 2016 and back then I bought the stainless steel version with the sapphire crystal because I believe it was supposed to be a bit tougher than the aluminum with Gorilla Glass, but my current series 5 is the aluminum and with neither watches I ever managed to even scratch them.
