First, you bring up the App Switcher by sliding your finger up from the bottom of the screen until you feel the third vibration. Now you can flick left and right to the various apps in the App Switcher. To close an app and remove it from the App Switcher, flick up or down until you hear close and then double tap. Now as you move left and right through your apps, the default action will be to close it, so you can just double tap on another app to close it.
