I have that feature disabled to end call with side button. The reason for that is, for instance, I am on a phone call, and it is going to be a few minutes or longer, I can press the Power Button to turn off the screen, but not disconnect the call. Otherwise, if I tried to lock the screen, it would end my call. It didn't take me long to figure out, that was not going to work for me - one call only.
