I spoke with Mark last night and cleared this with him based on the
nature of the issue. So as you know IOS 16.1 will be arriving on Monday
for the public. right now us beta testers are working with what is
called the release candidate. this is the final version that will go
public. I'm experiencing huge issues with dictation. If dictation is
something you rely on on a daily basis, you might want to follow this
group closely once this version goes public instead of getting it
yourself right away. Some of the issues I'm facing are as follows. Huge
inaccuracies, long delays when starting and stopping dictation and
placing you in different positions within the edit box if you start and
stop dictation frequently. I imagine that we probably have users here on
the group who use their phones for work and other things where they need
dictation to work well for them. And especially for those who might deal
with issues relating to their fingers not being able to type all that
well and rely on dictation. It's not guaranteed that the version I have
will go out on Monday because they could either fix this or push out
another release candidate before the weekend. So I will let you know
sometime this weekend if things are a little better so you can have the
information on Monday when the software is available for your device. I
just wanted to get this information out here now for those who might not
check the group every day. I just didn't want anyone to be stuck with
this if dictation hasn't improved and you need it to work well for how
you use your phone. I've never seen it this busted since I've been an
IOS user going back to 2016.
